Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University

The Japan-U.S. Leadership Program (JUSLP) provides leaders from Japan a rich learning opportunity made possible by the quality, location, and renown of the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.

Since 1898, the Elliott School and its predecessor schools have developed international leaders with the knowledge, character, and skills necessary to succeed on the global stage. Today, the Elliott School is regularly ranked among the top 10 international affairs programs in the world. Its alumni number more than 26,000 and include members of the U.S. Congress, the Japanese Diet, and many others active in politics, as well as leaders in diplomacy, the military, journalism, business, and non-governmental organizations in nearly every country.

JUSLP’s custom-designed executive education experience features seminars conducted by top George Washington University faculty as well as prominent thought leaders from the public and private sectors. The program also offers field visits in Washington, D.C., and Grand Rapids, Michigan, to expose participants to a wide range of viewpoints and the impacts of policy on the lives of American citizens.

The program’s curriculum meets the highest standards of rigor and excellence that the George Washington University has maintained since 1821 as one of the United States’ most prestigious universities. The Elliott School of International Affairs and our partners at The Japan Times and Amway Japan look forward to welcoming you to our campus in the heart of America’s capital.

The Japan Times, Ltd.

Since The Japan Times was first published in 1897, we have consistently advocated that it is essential for Japan to collaborate with other foreign countries, especially the United States of America, in order to maintain and enhance not only our national interests but also peace in Asia.

In order to promote mutual understanding between Japan and the United States, The Japan-U.S. Leadership Program (JUSLP), with its rich learning environment, provides wonderful opportunities for participants who are expected to appear on the international stage in the near future.

It is our great pleasure and honor to organize this valuable program with such an esteemed partner as the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University.

It is our hope that JUSLP will continue to produce new generations of leaders capable of serving as bridges between Japan and the United States.
